Dallas comes under the state of Texas and is the ninth-largest city in United States, founded in 1841 and was incorporated as a city in the year 1856. Dallas economy is based on commerce, banking, computer technology, energy and transportation and is a home of several companies. The population of Dallas is 1.3 million according to the Census of June 22, 2010 and is a largest economic center of the 12-county Dallas-Fort worth-Arlington metropolitan area according to the census of March 2010. The metropolitan area of Dallas is the fourth largest within the United States.

When talking about the entertainment and recreational places, Dallas Museum of Art and Dallas World Aquarium are worth mentioning. Dallas Museum of Art is a major art museum situated in the arts district of downtown. This Museum has a collection of over 23,000 works of arts from all over the globe from ancient to modern times. This Museum also comprises a collection of Wendy and Emery Reeves work. This museum also includes collection of African Art, American Painting and Sculpture, Ancient American, Ancient Mediterranean, Asian, Contemporary, Pacific Islands Art, Decorative Arts and Design and European Painting and Sculpture .
Aquarium –
Dallas World Aquarium is an aquarium cum zoo which is located at West End Historic District of Downtown. This zoo cum aquarium also aids the conservation of animals that are threatened or endangered along with the other Zoo’s in the US and the world. Level housing aquarium features many kinds of fishes, coral, anemones, jelly fish etc. and the ten main tanks include aquatic lives of Japan, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Bahamas, Palau, British Colombia, Fiji, Lord Howe Island, southern Australia and Solomon Islands. Other large tanks with tunnel include, Sharks and Manta Rays etc aside from aquatic animals it also features a large collection of plants, birds and animals.

Dallas comprises of a humid Subtropical climate although it is located in a region that receives warm dry winds from the north and west in summer season and the temperature rises up to 38 °C and sometimes up to 47 °C.
