The New York City is the most popular city of America which has a powerful influence on the economy of the world. The city also serves as the center of fashion, business, media, culture, education, finance and other aspects of the world. The city is also home to headquarter of the United Nations. The city is situated on a harbor and it is divided in five boroughs or islands. The city has numerous buildings and sky scrapers. The world’s most famous sky scraper is the Empire State building situated on 350 Fifth Avenue. The building has 102 floors and it remained the world’s tallest building for more than 40 years.
Another famous skyscraper includes the Chrysler building which stands at 319 meters. It remained the world’s tallest building before Empire State was build.

The city offers numerous film festivals and auditoriums and theaters of performing arts. Few among the most popular include the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts comprising of 12 influential art organizations. It is also the largest complex for performing arts in America.
Other performing art complex such as the Metropolitan Opera Association is home to the major opera performances. The opera house has 5 inner floors from where the audience can enjoy the show.

The City of New York attracts about 47 million tourists from all around the world. The city has no shortage of tourist attractions. Washington Square Park is one of the best places to spend relaxing time. The park dates back to 1871 and it offers a central fountain, lush greenery, street entertainers and references of the past.

The city also offers museum such as The Metropolitan Museum of Art which was opened around 1870. The museum is host to paintings, sculptures and artifacts from America, Asia, Europe, Africa and from other parts of the world. It also hosts paintings by Johan Vermeer.
